Youth demonstrating positive actions and behaviour and displaying acts of kindness may earn themselves some “cool” acknowledgment this summer.
The OPP is continuing its partnership with Mac’s Convenience Stores across Ontario for Operation Freeze 2016.
OPP officers will be on the lookout for youths doing positive things in the community and present them with a “positive ticket” for a free Froster.
Police will offer the “tickets” as an “icebreaker” to establish a rapport with kids in their patrol area or as a reward for positive behaviour, including:
– doing a good deed;
– participating in community activities;
– demonstrating community pride, (example: picking up trash); and
– deterring crime or observing school crossing rules.
